Cameroon too tough for us, says German coach

Citizen’s Voice Tv (COLONIA DEL SACRAMENTO) — Germany coach Urike Ballweg was not a fan of the style of play of Cameroon after a 1-0 defeat in Group C of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Colonia.

She said: “The match was very rough, Cameroon play with a lot of force so we couldn’t play the match we wanted to play.”

In a physically contested battle Germany succumbed to a lone second-half goal in their second group game. Cameroon came into the game without goalkeeper Christemille Onomo and defender Claudia Dabda who had both been shown red cards in the previous defeat by the United States.

However a second-half goal from Alice Kameni on a counter-attack goal was enough to give Cameroon a chance to qualify to the next stage of the competition.

All teams in Group C are locked on three points so Wednesday’s final two group games will determine who goes to the next round.
