PM Imran phones Modi to felicitate on electoral victory

Citizens Voice Tv (Islamabad) Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday telephoned his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and congratulated him on his party’s victory in the election of Lok Sabha.

During the conversation, the prime minister expressed his desire for both the countries to work together for the betterment of their peoples, Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) increased its majority in India’s general election with its best-ever tally of 303 seats on Friday. The main opposition party, the Indian National Congress, trailed the BJP with 52 of the 543 seats in parliament.

Earlier, PM Khan tweeted his congratulations to Modi on Friday and reiterated his vision for peace, progress and prosperity in South Asia, and said that he looked forward to working with Modi to advance these objectives.0:
